Rating System

This is a general description of the rating system of my book reviews. I write fair and honest reviews, non-biased by whatsoever aspect and only reflects my personal opinions of the book, the author and/or his/her writing style and technique.

My basic rating categories consists of:

  1. Plot - I love a good book with an excellent and original plot.
  2. Characters - I love books with unique characters and very realistic attributes (except for Fantasy Novels). I don't like passive protagonists and damsels-in-distress type of characters.
  3. Writing Style - I love exquisite writing styles.

*Book covers may also influence some of my reviews.

Rating System:

5/5: These are book that I highly recommend to readers. They have excellent plot, compelling characters and exquisite writing style. This rate may also mean that I have read this book in 2-3 sittings (a good pace for me).

4/5: These are books that I would recommend to readers. They consist one or two of my three basic categorical rating. Though, without as much excitement as the above rating, they still pull some stings in my insides.

3/5: These are books I could recommend to readers but with some warnings as to what I may not have liked in the categories I have mentioned. It may also mean that I read the book in the span of 1-2 weeks.

2/5: These are book that I would not recommend to readers. They might have taken me 2-3 weeks to finish.

1/5: Books that I felt like a burden to read, just for the sake of finishing and may not consist any of the categories I have mentioned above.
